If my friends invite me to a party,
sometimes I won't know if I want to go.
Maybe I want to stay home and read,
Or go to a basketball game,
Or anything else.
If I go,
I might have fun,
I might be miserable and wish I hadn’t gone.
If I think for a long time and still cannot decide,
Then the default answer is usually to not go.
If I did want to go, it would be an easy decision.
If I can’t decide to go, then there is probably a good reason not to go.
Usually, when I can’t decide, and therefore don’t go, I am glad I did the other thing.

Other people have different rules.
Some people say that if you can’t decide, then you should do it anyway.
This is the case for going to the gym, for example.

The latter is good advice for people who tend to do too little.
The former is good advice for people who tend to do too much.

The point is that if you don’t ever decide, then something will happen automatically.
Make sure the something you end up doing in the absence of decision is something you can live with.
